Biochemical, Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineers, or Scientists to join our Biosensor Development Team!

To qualify for these technically challenging positions one must possess a PhD in Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 2 years experience in industry, or as a post-doc.

Successful candidates must have developed strong biochemical and/or biomedical engineering capabilities and have a knack for innovative solutions to technically challenging problems through work experience in a research and product and/or a process development environment.

Good general industrial process knowledge and strong interest in conducting research, development and commercialization of advanced biosensor technologies, including work in SPR, MEMS, optics and fluidics, as well as biological markers, particle detection, and material characterization. 

In addition to engineering skills, candidates with experience and knowledge of, or familiarity with chemically modifying and identifying proteins, assay development using new technologies, such as surface chemistry and fluidics are desired.

In this role, the candidate will take responsibility for assigned projects from inception to completion. The candidate will generate project requirements to resolve product/process problems and to support development of new products/processes. The candidate will initiate technical investigations, prepare protocols, develop, and apply advanced theories, methods and research techniques in solution of complex and advanced biotechnical problems.

Requirements

• PhD in Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited college is required

• Minimum of 2 years experience in the life sciences industry or as a post-doc

• General industrial process knowledge

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Authorized to work in the United States

• Ability to work independently and collaborate with chemists, biologists, mechanical engineers and chemical engineers to optimize biologically active molecules
