Position Requirements  Laboratory Chemist - Oil-Water Analysis

•  Testing of crude oil for density, API gravity, viscosity, moisture etc.
  
• Development of SARA analysis
  
• Hydrocarbon analysis
  
• Testing of water samples for anions, and cations
  
• Development of methods for acid, solvent and gas analysis using GC
  
• Testing of ICP metal analysis using atomic absorption techniques
  
• Development of FAME analysis
  
• Surface tension and interfacial tension measurement
  
• Develop standard operating procedures and revision of existing procedures as needed  
  
• Collect data and analyze; generate and clearly communicate sound recommendations
  
• Develop innovative methods for improvement of existing processes and equipment
  
• Setting up, operating, and maintaining laboratory instruments.
  
• Identify problems and implement solutions
  
• Actively participate in a team environment
  
•  Write and execute study protocols, methods and SOPs
  
• Exhibit good fundamental laboratory skills

This role will handle multiple priorities; require a high level of quality service, and strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to be highly motivated, a self-starter, and self-directed is required.

Knowledge of Dionex, GC,  viscometer, HPLC, UV-VIS Spectrophotometer and GC-MS is preferred

Required Education/Experiences:

MS analytical chemistry and  minimum of two/ three years increasing technical experience in  a research/industrial laboratory preferably in operation of different instruments such as GC,  HPLC, GC-MS, dionex, atomic absorption,spin drop tensiometer, viscometer as applicable to water and oil analysis
