Senior Financial Analyst (32231)
Description
Compiles and analyzes financial information for an organization. Develops integrated revenue/expense analyses, projections, reports, and presentations. Creates and analyzes monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and ensures financial information has been recorded accurately. Identifies trends and developments in competitive environments and presents findings to senior management. Performs financial forecasting and reconciliation of internal accounts. Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and may be expected to have an advanced degree in a related area with at least 7 years of related experience. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager.
Required Skills
- Independently applies knowledge of financial management functions, processes, and analytical methods or techniques to gather, analyze, and evaluate information required by program or project managers and customers.
- Draws conclusions and devises solutions to problems relating to improvement of financial management effectiveness, work methods and procedure efficiency.
- Develops and maintains program budgets and other financial tracking documentation.
- May perform work measurement studies, program or financial operations efficiency reviews, cost studies, or workload change impact analyses.
- Relies upon and uses automated management information systems in performing fact finding, analytical, and advisory functions.
Required Experience
A total of at least six years of experience in performing the foregoing functions with respect to DoD programs/projects. At least two years of the foregoing total experience shall have been as a team leader or supervisor. Education: A bachelor's or postgraduate degree in mathematics, statistics, or a business or management discipline such as business administration, accounting, finance, economics, or management information technology. United States Citizenship is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
