Career Services Coordinator

The Career Services Coordinator assists the students with resume preparation, job search/research, and interviewing techniques. They also assist in planning and participating in school events (i.e. Orientations, job fairs, program Advisory meetings, Graduations). The Career Services Coordinator assists students with part-time employment while in school and permanent employment in their field of study upon graduation. The CS coordinator is also responsible for contacting employers in the community via telephone or site visits and maintaining a database of job opportunities and referrals for students and graduates.
Success in this position requires a person to continually drive top performance through disciplined execution of the following responsibilities:
  • Execute high volume of outbound phone calls to employers and graduates
  • Receive inbound calls from prospective employers and graduates seeking employment assistance
  • Follow-up on employment leads and set appointments
  • Uncover prospective employers needs and overcome objections
  • Lock-down prospects for commitment
  • Evaluate daily activity against standards and personal sales goals
  • Assist with professional development activities
  • Coordinate and conduct scheduled resume preparation, interviewing techniques, job search/research, and other career development sessions in the classroom
  • Assist students with graduate paperwork (i.e. resumes and exit interviews)
  • Develop and maintain employer database and employment referrals for graduating students
  • Track and document employer and graduate activities throughout hiring process
  • Routine follow-up with employers and graduates to assess the effectiveness of candidate matching
  • Obtain new employer contacts in person or by telephone
  • Arrange for employers to visit the classrooms
  • Assist with preparation and attend Orientation, Graduation, Program Advisory Committee Meetings and Special Events (i.e. Job Fairs and Student Appreciation days)
  • Obtain student and graduate testimonials



Job Requirements:
  • Solid communication skills (both verbal & written)
  • 6 months sales related experience
  • 2-year degree in Business or other comparable area
  • Knowledge of and Experience with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within policies and practices
  • Substantial creativity, with good problem-solving skills
  • Ability and willingness to work independently and use independent judgment
  • Significant experience using Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent Customer Focus
  • Demonstrate highest levels of integrity and professionalism
