Port Manager, Marine Operations
Position Summary: The Port Manager of Marine Operations will report to the Operations Manager of Marine Operations and is responsible for managing the marine operations for the Corpus Christi office. Responsibilities also include: business development, overseeing all aspects of the day to day operation, ensuring timely vessel entry and clearance of paperwork, ensuring compliance with all government regulations and requirements. Key Responsibilities: - Responsible for overseeing and coordinating all activities for vessels while in port, including boarding and husbanding vessels when required. This also includes all necessary arrangements and coordination prior to the vessel’s arrival to affect a smooth and efficient turnaround.
- Responsible for ensuring timely vessel entry and clearance of paperwork.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance to all Government rules and regulations and resolving issues with Customs and other government agencies.
- Responsible for business development.
- Responsible for pricing and bid submission.
- To optimize the port offices’ revenue, cost efficiencies and recoveries.
- Work with Principals, terminal operators, stevedores, port authorities, government officials and other parties to ensure safe and efficient practices and methods.
- Maintain communication, in conjunction with Operations Representatives, with Federal and State authorities, local pilots, terminal operators, towboat companies, port authorities, stevedores, etc., in order to ensure a smooth and safe operation during a vessel call.
- Ensure timely billing of all job files.
Additional Job Duties: - Ensure vessels principals’ requirements are met.
- Ensure adherance to company policies and guidelines.
- Build relationships with relevant terminals, port authorities and government agencies.
- Ensure that all valid port authority procedures are followed.
- Monitor emails and other written communication and ensure timely replies.
- Keep the Senior Vice President, Marine, the Vice President, Marine, and the Operations Manager, Marine continuously updated on local news or developments.

Job Requirements: - 5+ years experience in marine agency and husbandry services.
- Must have experience in cruise ship, general cargo.
- Must have a TWIC card.
- Must be willing to work/travel within the Texas ports.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; must be able to interact with clients and vendors in a professional manner.
- Ability to balance multiple tasks and operate within a deadline oriented environment.
- Ability to operate in a team environment.
- Basic computer knowledge with good typing skills for data entry.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent driving record; position requires 50-60% travel using personal vehicle for company business; mileage reimbursed.
- Be willing to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Security background check, drug screen and motor vehicle record check performed.
