Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Provide technical leadership in the design of power electronics controls for power conversion systems. Expertise in hardware, firmware and software. · Development dynamic simulations or power conversion system for the purpose of analyzing and designing control systems. · Specify control algorithms for software implementation in power converters for customer applications. Work closely with software engineers for implementation and testing of algorithms. · Author requirements and test plans pertaining to the dynamic controls of power conversion systems. Development of control architecture of power conversion to meet customer requirements. · Specify control components and power electronic components for customer applications. · Interface to sales and marketing for generating specifications and evaluation technical feasibility of customer requirements. · Provide technical expertise to support current products and in the development of new products. |
C. Decision Making Authority
· Has authority to define capital equipment needs and prepare appropriate budgets. · Has authority to schedule and meet with customers. · Follow company purchasing authorization procedures. |
D. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
EDUCATION: BS in Electrical Engineering, MS in Power Electronics is desirable. EXPERIENCE: At least 8-10 years of technical experience power electronic controls systems design. Design experience in Photovoltaic Converters is desirable |
E. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities necessary to perform essential functions
· Strong technical background in power electronics, control systems, power converters, electric utility power quality analysis or in systems integration of high power electronics with no less experience than 8 years experience. · Significant design experience in control systems for power conversion equipment. · Experience using commercial control systems simulation and analysis tools. · Excellent customer interaction capability. · Excellent computer skills are essential (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). · Strong oral and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills. · Ability to author technical documents and proposals. |
