Manufacturing Company located in the Knoxville
TN
area has an exciting
opportunity for a Technology Development Engineer
in their Technology Department which is responsible for developing new
technology for future plants while continually seeking ways to improve
operating efficiency at current operating plants.



 



30% - 50% Travel including
INTERNATIONALLY to CHINA.



 



The RIGHT candidate will be a
STRONGLY INTUITIVE and CURIOUS person as there a lot of pieces to put together.  You will COLLECT all the dots and CONNECT the
right ones.  This is a field position –
you will be helping run FULL SCALE experiments and will be dealing with Plant
Managers, Operators…  



 



Technology Development Engineer
will report to and assist the Manager of Technology Development in conducting
basic research and conducting test programs in the field. 



 



He/she will assist in
developing test plans, helping execute those test plans, analyzing the results
and preparing reports and presentation for the Technology Review Committee
and/or Senior Management. 



 



He/She will be assigned
direct responsibility as a team leader on multi-disciplinary teams working on
specific operational excellence tasks.



    



RESPONSIBILITIES



 



·        
Researches and
helps determine the technical opportunities and priorities of the company



·        
Researches
processes and equipment being developed or implemented throughout the world in
related industries



·        
Develops
conceptual alternatives for equipment and/or groups of equipment



·        
Develops test
protocols in order to determine the efficiency if a technology change.  Testing must be done to demonstrate
improvements and reveal flaws



·        
Writes the
protocol and assists with the execution of the tests



·        
Writes or manages
the preparation of final test reports with conclusions and recommendations



·        
Works with
Engineering, Operations, and Purchasing Departments to develop designs, test
protocols and implementation of changes



·        
Interfaces with
Engineering and Operations during and after implementation of new technology,
follows up with Operations to measure success and solve problems that may have
developed



·        
Manages vendors
of materials and services to provide special needs for testing and for newly
designed equipment



·        
Prepares formal presentation
materials from TD activities/tests



·        
Assist with
patent applications



 



EXPERIENCE



  • Educational or working knowledge
    about several technical areas including but not limited to, combustion,
    high temperature materials, material handling, heat & material balance
    programs, waste heat recovery and environmental engineering processes.
  • NPI EXPERIENCE IS VITAL
  • No prior work experience
    required


 



EDUCATION



  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
    or Chemical Engineering; M.E. preferred
  • Strong chemistry background a
    plus
  • Research experience  


 



COMPENSATION



  • Salary 75K
    -82K based on experience
